Bengbu EV Charging Station Box Substation
Box substation and RMU for a new-energy vehicle charging station in Bengbu, Anhui — our team's participation.
Our engineering team participated in the power-supply build-out of an EV charging station of GAC Aion in Bengbu, Anhui, supporting capacity configuration and the energization procedure of the matching box substation.
Project background
A charging station needs a compact, reliable supply point that can feed multiple DC fast chargers. The matching box substation integrates HV switchgear, a transformer and LV distribution in one enclosure.
Equipment & scope
- XGN15-12 SF6 ring main unit on the HV side
- Box-type substation with transformer capacity 630–1600 kVA
- Capacity configuration for the charging load and staged energization
What our team did
The team supported transformer-capacity sizing against the charging load, RMU incoming/outgoing configuration and the on-site energization test, so the station could be put into service without rework.
Takeaway
Charging stations are a typical application of our box-type substations and RMU products. Capacity should be sized from the total charger power, not the peak of a single pile.
